            Unmoved mover- god, the beauty in women.

 

Goddess

 

Archetype- psychologically pattern

Stereotype- social pattern

 

Honor thy husband, head covered.

                        All born of a women.

 

Depth (not behavioral) Unconsciousness

Frued women, Oedipus complex- penis envy, posses mother, Electra complex- wants father

            Unconsciousness- not so easily brought into consciousness.

            Subconscious- right below active consciousness.

Superego- angle and devil internalized sense of morals.

Ego- customized sense of identity by culture.

ID- suppressed feelings and urges and needs. Energy and libido- primal wants

 

Most people repress IB so you be socially acceptable.

Stem from ID moves into the ego such as fantasying dreams and such.

 

Jung disagreed with the idea that all dreams are sexual symbols.

Freud- you have been liberated because you have brought what was in you unconsciousness into your consciousness.

 

  • Jung believed in the collective unconsciousness effect us as much if not more than the personal unconscious in way of archetypes.  
  • Basement is where the collective unconsciousness is located. In this basement there is a trap door which connects all basements.

Common archetypes are found in the language of dreams, fairy tales, myths, and fantasy

  • Myth is everywhere
  • Dionysus- trickster dissembles order
  • Myth- tradition
